The ACL is a major ligament in your knee providing stability. Most ACL injuries occur during sports that involve quick stops, changes in direction, and cutting movements. Surgery is usually performed in an outpatient clinic with discharge the home the same day. Crutches are used the first few weeks with physical therapy starting usually within the 1st 1-2 weeks. Exercises will be developed and implemented by your physical therapist to be performed here at the clinic and at home. Range of Motion, strengthening, and stability exercises will gradually be introduced during the rehabilitation process.
