Knee Arthritis

Arthritis in the knee can cause pain, stiffness, weakness, and can sometimes cause the knee to feel it is “giving out.” Arthritis, or the wearing down of cartilage between the bones that make up the knee joint, can be caused by age related factors, “wear and tear”, overuse, or an injury. Although conservative treatments cannot cure the arthritis, physical therapy can help to strengthen muscles surrounding the knee to support the joint and relieve symptoms, such as pressure and pain.
