Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal, which often causes pressure on the nerves. In turn, this can create one or many of the following symptoms: pain in the back and/or legs, numbness/tingling, weakness, and balance problems. Although stenosis cannot be cured with conservative measures, physical therapy treatment can help you to manage and prevent worsening of the symptoms. Your therapist will teach you which motions to avoid and how to incorporate this exercise program into your normal lifestyle.
